Swedish massage, sometimes called Holistic or Relaxation massage is charactorised by a lighter slow, long gliding strokes towards the heart. It both calms the nerves and relaxes muscles. It is a gentle type of massage, often chosen by those new to the experience of massage.
The benefits of Swedish massage include: Reduction in headaches and stress allied with the release of endorphines to improve your mood. Furthermore, increased energy and improved blood circulation lead to more nutrient rich blood flow to your muscles and organs. Finally a sense of wellbeing helps to improve posture and promote more flexible muscles.
Deep tissue massage
Relaxes the surface to sink into the deep muscles
Deep tissue massage uses greater pressure, whilst moving very slowing along muscles. The focus for me as a massage therapist is warming up and relaxing surface muscles so that deeper muscles can be treated. Muscle tightness or discomfort are the most popular reason for deep tissue massages. Whilst working I may use my reinforced fingers, knuckles or elbows to produce the right amount of pressure. Throughout the massage you and I communicate so that the experience remains comfortable and relaxing.

It's an honour and a priviledge to work with expectant parents at this time of their lives. Massage was the first form of self care and in modern times it still has it's place in the well being of all.
Pregnancy Massage assists in challenging times to overcome stress in all the bodies systems. Breathing becomes more relaxed, the nervous system calms and these changes are passed on to your baby.
You can book your first pregnancy massage after your 12th week (first trimester). At this time you will be settled into your pregnancy and dealing with the challenges that it brings.
During your massage, you'll be in a side lying position with lots of pillows and cushions for your comfort. You can even select the pressure you would prefer. If you've always liked a deeper pressure to your back, just ask. I also have a selection of organic oils because my aim is provide you with the best quality products available.
Massage helps new parents to embody their space. As the body changes in pregnancy, balance and spacial awareness are challenged. Massage helps expectants parents adapt and judge their place in the world with greater ease through the embodied experience.

Post surgery scars are not just on the surface. They are anywhere the path of healing takes place. Like any wound, the body heals and and fascia that protects us, becomes tighter . These points of tightness we can call adhesions. Adhesions are natural points of restriction that evolve in our bodies as we heal. Scar tissue release gently works on adhesions to reduce restrictions in scar tissue. bodies.

Sports massage
For hard workers who are confined to their desks or in more active settings, the resulting muscle soreness can be addressed with sports massage.
My sports massages are for muscle maintainance. Where there is muscle discomfort I work the specific muscle groups to release tension and apply stretches where needed. Aftercare advice is given after each appointment if needed in the form of exercises to do at home before follow up appointments.
The beauty of sports massage is that it addresses the bodies muscular imbalances that we live with everyday. We seek to increase range of movement, reduce discomfort and encouraging self maintenence.
